A question I’ve been faced with too many times: When you’re over 40, 50 or 60, how old it too old? Well, I am way over 50 and really close to 60 so………I know who I am and what I want and not afraid to be bold….DO YOU ? I think that you must not care about what others think and take a few more risks than you have done in the past. So, who is with me here………….????
Let’s start with the corp top. Yes, a young look, but fast forward to 40+ and add a tank underneath, or a long sleeve sheer t-shirt like I have done here.. Next, always wear a high waisted skirt or trousers with the sheer shirt under the crop top that will give an illusion without showing the skin. The bottom of the top should meet the top of the skirt or pant. You could also wear a long shirt with tail or tank top (not tucked in) as a more casual look, paired over leggings or skinny jeans.
Why shouldn’t a woman over…… not wear a cute bootie???? So hip and youthful without looking like a want-a-be teeny bop. Those of you that have larger calves, booties are the answer for you. Yeah!!!!! There are so many options for booties this year. I have offered some other choices at the bottom of this post.
Now……the pencil skirt……….arguably the most flattering skirt of all time. It pretty much fits all shapes and sizes. It transcends conventional body shapes and looks great regardless to whether you are skinny , curvy, small , or big……old or young!!!
In the 1940’s. like the full skirt, once again Christian Dior reinvents the skirt…… the 1900’s “hobble” skirt. He knew the woman’s body and knew this shape would ooze sex appeal. It forces you to literally ‘wiggle’ as you walk. A La Marilyn Monroe, Lauren Bacall and Katherine Hepburn were all seen wearing the pencil skirt.
Wear this skirt with sexy pumps for a dressier look or a ballerina flat for a more casual look.
The moral to this story is that no matter how old your are or size you are, you can make this look work. Confidence is the true key to pulling this off. You can do it…. I know you can!!!
