Now introducing: Alicia Wood!

the lush list-173

Today is Wednesday Woman Crush and I am so excited to introduce to you my gorgeous over 40 friend  Alicia Wood of The Lush List from Dallas, Texas. Alicia and I have known each other through Instagram for about a hear and a half now and last April I had the pleasure of meeting her in person while attending the RewardStyle Conference. We also hung out in New York for Fashion Week back in September. I have enjoyed getting to know her better with every time we get together. In fact, a couple of weeks ago I flew to Dallas for a holiday lunch with Alicia and 7 other Dallas bloggers that I have become friends during this blogger journey. I am so grateful for all of these ladies in my life!!

When I found out that Alicia enjoys cooking and includes it on her blog, I asked her if she would be a food contributor once a month for SheShe Show. I was thrilled when she said yes! I am always looking to bring new content to you, but cooking is not my thing, so voila enter Alicia.

I asked Alicia to send me some of her recent fashion photos and share a little bit about herself . She also shows us how to make one of her favorite appetizers. What a great time for this recipe, since many of us will be hosting small gatherings on New Years Eve. I think this Charcuterie Board is a great idea and makes a beautiful presentation. Enjoy our Wednesday Woman Crush!!

Hi? I’m Alicia Wood of The Lush List, a luxury lifestyle blog covering Fashion, Clean Beauty, Home, Food and Travel. I am a huge list maker, information junkie, travel lover and foodie.

People have always asked me where I purchased things: from what I’m wearing to items in my home, from favorite travel destinations to where to eat or a favorite recipe. My friends often tease me, saying that if I don’t have the information someone needs, I can find it quickly. I founded The Lush List a little over two years ago to be an inspirational destination and information resource for others and to fulfill my need for a creative outlet.

Most often you’ll find me sharing my take on the latest rend, seasonal recipe, a menu fo an upcoming holiday, a travel itinerary, home decor ideas and the latest in clean, nontoxic beauty.

Anyone who reads The Lush List knows I truly love Mexico. I’m a warm weather girl, and I love the relaxed environment of a beach vacation. With my toes in the sand and a Serrano Margarita in my hand, I’m a happy girl! My husband is and “adventurer” and can’t sit still on vacation. Our three girls and I have all learned to surf and snow ski as a result of his passion and are constantly looking for new locations for these family activities. Telluride and Whistler are our favorite mountain spots. I can’t wait to see SheShe’s lace the next time we are in T-ride!

One reason I began blogging was to share the information I have learned over the past 5 years about food allergies and finding the best way to feed my family safely but not sacrifice taste or traditions. We love food at my house! Because we need to know all of the ingredients in our products, clean beauty is not just a buzz-word here but something I’m truly serious about. Now, my website has become a trusted source for gluten-free and nut-free products in the areas of both food and clean beauty. I am thrilled to be sharing this information with SheShe Show readers as well!

Today, I present the Perfect Charcuterie Board. This is my go-to for easy entertaining. This is perfect for a crowd and made from things you can generally keep on hand.

I’ve gotten several calls lately asking for a quick but satisfying appetizer. Something that is quick to put together and with no prep time. My answer each time? A Charcuterie and Cheese Board. Charcuterie is just a fancy way of saying meats. It is French and translates as pork meats but can really be any that you choose.

This is my go-to for almost every gathering we have a my home. So many of these things you can keep on hand for last minute guests, a crowd pleaser for Sunday football games or an easy dinner for those oh-s-busy school nights.

I first saw a Charcuterie Board at a friends home. I was immediately obsessed and went the very next day to purchase my own. I love so much! I recently packed it and our filled with meats and cheese for a girls trip. I volunteered to be in charge of the appetizer just so I could use this boar.

My guide for a good Charcuterie and Cheese Board:

Choose a variety of meats. Both soft and more dense. Spicy and salty. I used pepper crusted hard salami and prosciutto for this one and also used an Herbs; Provence crusted salami.

Choose cheese with flavor and texture. I typically choose a Stilton with a fruit like apricot or cherry, a soft goat cheese, smoked gouda and my favorite, a Spanish goat cheese, Manchego.

Add salty items like olives and pickles. Include a few fruits like sliced apples and figs when in season. The piece resistance is a fig jam. I love to spread a bit on a slice of Manchego and top with prosciutto.

For this board I picked up some prosciutto wrapped mozzarella for a fun, time-saving element. These and other items for this board were purchased at Trader Joes. I served it with two of my favorite wines, Long Meadow Ranch Sauvignon Blanc and their Cabernet Sauvignon.

Happy Holidays

XO,

Alicia
