a warm birthday break

We headed to West Palm Beach, Florida, Sunday March 8th on the morning of my 60th birthday on a research trip to look at sport fisherman boats. After settling in to this beautiful resort, we got ready and went to a lovely dinner at Cafe Chardonnay. When we returned we were treated to champagne and strawberries, compliments of the resort. A little treat on my warm birthday break!!!

Cafe Chardonnay is a delicious Italian Restaurant serving mostly the locals and winter migrants located just across the bridge from Singer Island.

We had the best carrot cake on the planet for desert.

The next day we drove north about 45 minutes to see a couple of boats for sell in Stuart, Fla. It was a little cool in the morning, so I layered this long knit cardigan and circle scarf over my top and shorts. Mixed up a few prints for an updated look. Of course I wore my hat and sunglasses to protect my face from the intense Florida sun.

Our outing was to be most of the day, so I carried this great tote by Tory Burch to carry my DSLR camera, sun screen, deck shoes, bottle water and a small cross body purse that I can pull out and use need be.

On our way back to the resort, we stopped by this great little French restaurant on the water in Jupiter, Fla. to have a delicious lunch. Of course, fresh catch of the day. The temps were warming up so I shredded my long cardigan.

By the time we got back to the resort, we were worn out, so we decided to stay in, have room service and rest up for another big day.
