I live about 25 miles to the south southeast of Houston. My address is still a Houston address, but just down the road a ways are about 4 other little towns that make up the Clear Lake or Bay Area of Houston. Since I married Norman and moved to this area almost 22 years ago, I have complained about the lack of good restaurants and good shopping. Well, now I can tell you that we are finally getting there, especially with the addition of the new Nordstrom Rack.

There are many great things happening in our area and I am so excited (if you have not heard ) to announce that today is the official grand opening of Nordstrom Rack. Tuesday night Nordstrom Rack held a private shopping event for over 1,000 excited customers from our area.
At 4pm they let the first awaiting invited customers enter the store. As they filed through the aisles they were greeted by the entire sales and management staff clapping and cheering.
The store was well prepared for these excited customers with check out stations located throughout the store as well as a main stations in the front of the store. There were sales associates located everywhere to help wearing bright green t-shirts.
I loved their shopping carts. They had room in a basket for shoes, accessories, and etc, as well as a bar over the top, so you can hang your clothing choices on.
My favorite thing, of course was the the champagne and appetizers. I did not want to take time to go to the bar or food table, but not a problem because they had servers come to me while I was shopping.
It was so fun running in to many friends that decided to make this event a girls night out, whether it be with girlfriends or for a family affair like this cute mother and daughter photographed below.
I will say that I spent most of my time in the shoe department. After all, Nordstrom has been known for their great shoe department for years. I found 3 pairs of Tory Burch shoes, as well as so many other brands that I love for at least 20 to 50% off the original retail price. These goods are also current, not 2 or 3 seasons old.
The other department that I favorited was the workout clothing department. Unless I have a planned event, I am living in my workout clothes. I was so excited to pick up some great workout pieces from Nike, and several other well known companies at great discounted prices.
Well…..let’s see……. I arrived at Nordstrom Rack around 5pm and I did not leave the building until almost 8pm. As you can see below……I had a great time doing my very favorite thing in the world and that is shop!!!!!
