Easter on my mind

Happy Monday and Happy Easter week. My birthday celebrations are pretty much done and now I have Easter on my mind. I love the change of seasons and spring is a beautiful time with all the newness abound. I think I mentioned that because I was born in March that I always got spring clothes for my birthday. In Tennessee where I was raised, it could be cold in early March, but it did not matter. I always wore my new spring outfit to school on my birthday.

So I guess you are thinking that I got this outfit for my birthday. Well, I usually get a little money from Norman for my birthday and then I go shopping. The answer then would be yes, this is part of birthday.

This spring I have been spending my bigger dollars on leather goods like shoes and handbags. My clothes have been item pieces from here and there. I am not much on buying matchie matchie, and if I do I would most definitely want to be able to split up the outfit so I could wear the pieces in multiple ways.

I love to mix high end with low end. This being said, my skirt came from Zara which is an uber fun store where you can pick up high fashion looks for modest prices.

I will spend a lot of money on handbags and shoes. ( one of my addictions ) I love my new little nano YSL sac du jour cross body bag. Most goods like these will hold their value for some time, so if you move on to other bags, you can get most of your money back through Ebay or other avenues. I just sold a Chanel tote that was 5 years old for the same amount I paid for it.

I understand that most of you cannot or will not splurge on these kinds of goods, so I searched out a few bags with the same look linked below, that are still very nice, but for much less.

There are several trends going on here. The pleated skirt, stripes, black & white, wedges, cross body bags,  and big sunglasses, I did not buy these pieces together as an outfit. I bought them, put them in my closet then created the look.

I know that many of you need help pulling together fashion looks from your closet, so I hope this post will maybe give you some ideas and inspiration on helping you get creative by shopping your own closet.

The skirts I pulled below are showing in black, but they are available in off white as well.
