Tulle Princess or Streetstyle?

I have always considered myself a tulle princess. Tulle fabric has its place in textiles history. It has been well known as the go to fabric for a ballerina’s tutu, wedding dresses, wedding veils, petticoats, and now is moving forward as a street style look. My mother’s wedding dress was tulle and it was so dreamy. This fabric is made of an extremely fine netting made of various fibers and is very lightweight.

Tulle originated in France ( where else ) and it holds a little girls ( and big girls too ) fascination because of it’s puffy, floaty, princess like look. Today this fabric has evolved into so much more. Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City made it an iconic staple that set off the fashionistas of the world to claim their own personal styling. I personally chose to wear a pink tulle skirt for my birthday blog post back in March. It was one of my most highly rated blog post ever.

Just recently I discovered a really great website called Shabby Apple. They sell various styles of skirts and dresses made with gorgeous fabrics, which includes some beautiful tulle skirts. By the way, they are also very well priced. You could totally restyle any of their skirts or dresses to wear just about anywhere.

Today I decided I wanted to wear their creme colored skirt with a leather top and lace up heeled sandals. It gives the outfit an edgier more hip look rather than a princess or wedding look. I love this high low effect. Now if I have a cocktail party to attend, I could take this beautiful skirt and add cashmere, sequins, satin, fur or etc and create another beautiful outfit.

So head on over to www.shabbyapple.com, check out their great skirts and dresses and let your imaginations create a look that reflects your style and personality.      Xo, SheShe
