Ok ladies…it’s the classic white shirt!! I think I have done this before, but if you do not have one yet, then you are missing the #1 staple for your wardrobe.
I get questions all of the time about what wardrobe building basics should anchor ones closet and I will go over my basics with you over the next few months. I have had great white blouses through my life, but this Ann Taylor ( perfect shirt ) is the best one I have ever found that works for the young contemporary girl to the very mature woman.
My Choice is based on the following:
#1 A true white with a crisp button front with point collar and long sleeves with button closure.
#2 A modern stretch. 75% cotton, 22% nylon, 3% stretch. Not too tight and not full. It actually doesn’t pull across the chest because of the stretch.
#3 Machine Washable and if you take it right out of the dryer you will not need to iron it.
#4 Back yoke with nice long shirt tail hem. Can be worn out or tucked in. It actually shapes nicely over the hips and stays tucked in.
#5 Sizing- 00 to a size 16 and comes in Petites and Tall sizes.
#6 Price is only $69.50 You might want to get 2 of them.
#7 Layers great under jackets and sweaters but looks great worn alone. A great choice for the office or boardroom, but looks fantastic with your favorite jeans for that date night with the hubs or your bestie.
Also, I added the classic Burberry cashmere scarf. I have had mine for years!! Yes, pricey, but yes it never goes out of style. Even though I love trends, I never get tired of the classic white shirt or my classic Burberry scarf!!
