Happy hump day all. I know that I have been MIA but I am back and here to bring you denim trends for Spring/Summer 2016.

I have just spent a week in Colorado where I got some much needed r and r, then flew to Dallas to the RewardStyle Conference where I had a marathon learning and networking with like bloggers/publishers. Whew, sure glad I got there well rested. I will report on this conference next week.

Denim has always been a wardrobe staple but this season it seems that it is bigger than ever. First of all let’s talk jeans. Here are trends this season:

  1. Crop jeans for summer in skinny and flares (yes, flared cropes) It almost looks like what we used to call ‘high waters’.
  2. Fringy frayed at the hem. (Don’t want to invest, then just cut off and old pair and fringe them out)
  3. Light denim washes (Washes always lighten up in the summer)
  4. Boyfriend style (Usually size down on this style and it will still be a little baggy)
  5. Destroyed jeans(ripped, torn, holes everywhere) Click on and scroll for some of my pics for you to shop.
  6. Long flare (bell bottom) jeans.
  7. High rise ‘mom’ jeans.

Next we have denim jackets. Forever we have seen the classic engineer style denim jacket. This season we have a few new shapes. One shape that I like is the kimono style and also the patchwork, anorak, trench, motto and more. Click on and scroll through below for my some of my pics for you to shop.

Now we have the jeans and the jacket so now we need a top to go with your outfit. Here are a few cute boho tops similar to what I am wearing in the photos. This style is another big trend this season. It is great for a south of the border look or really great for a boho look that you could wear this week at ‘Coachella’. This style still fits all body types and is very versatile.

Last but not least, denim showing up in other fashion applications. For instance, I just ordered this patchwork Rebecca Minkoff denim patchwork shoulder bag. I have always loved a great denim bag. At my age we can still wear denim jumpsuits, but I will leave the denim rompers to my much younger friends, granddaughter and neice. I even saw denim show up in a swimsuit this year and I am really loving the denim coullottes.

So you can see that this season is supporting denim in a huge way. I would take a look at your jeans collection and decide what you need to add to update your Denim Spring/summer style. Please feel free to ask questions and I would love to know what you are adding to your denim linup!!!
