When building a wardrobe we want to build with the basics and then work our trendier pieces to accent the outfit. I try not to spend my dollars on real trendy pieces. I would prefer to spend those dollars on a beautiful designer handbag that will stay in my closet for a long time. I often wear a top under $50 and carry a $2,000.00 bag. I love the high and low of fashion.
When it comes to classics in apparel, I will also let go of the pocketbook because I know that the item will not go out of style by end of season. I love the the brand Rag and Bone. They are a brand that is pricey but not out of reach. Get it on sale then you have scored!! They do a great job bringing the trends into the line up without compromising their classic clean lines. I especially love their jeans. Go here to get a few styles that are on sale. Just remember, these are new styles, not styles from summer.
Other good basics to snag is a great pair of black pants, a black classic or hobo style handbag, white blouse, cardigan sweater or poncho, black pumps, something lace, and not to forget earrings.
