Traveling With Vonlane // Jet Service On Wheels

Yes, meet VONLANE,  jet service on wheels that is the latest and greatest luxury transportation between Dallas, TX, Houston, TX, and Austin, TX.

I recently heard about VONLANE through a friend, but I didn’t think much about checking it out until I decided to meet a group of my blogger girlfriends in Dallas for a Christmas lunch. I really wanted to travel up to Dallas from Houston for the day, but Southwest Airlines was over $300 one way, so it seemed a little extravagant and didn’t want to make the 4 1/2 hour drive either!!

I then remembered something about this fancy bus service, so I Googled and found the VONLANE website. This was the answer, so I booked my trip. Since I decided to fly up on Southwest Airlines and use some free tickets that I had and ride back on this luxury jet service on wheels. Booking was a breeze. For only $79-$99 you can travel one way to any of the 3 cities in the Texas triangle and I just heard that Houston to San Antonio is starting up in March!! Wha hoo!  It is just like booking an airline reservation. You put in your destination and date, then a box pops up with the schedules, choose a time of day, choose one of the 16 first class seats and go to pay. So easy!!

As of my travel date there were 4 trips a day to Houston from Dallas and the departure location was at the Doubletree Hotel by Love Field in Dallas. I chose the 3 pm time so it would put me in Downtown Houston around 6:30pm.

Upon arrival at the Doubletree Hotel, the bus was sitting there glistening, waiting on it’s passengers. Our handsome luxury driver, Rick Rojas, greeted me with a smile and helped me load my bags as well as allowed me to take his picture for this story. As I boarded, my luxury attendant, Madelynn Milburn, was anxiously awaiting so that she could show me to my seat. While a normal charter bus contains 56 airline coach-type seats, a Vonlane bus is outfitted with 16 first-class seats and a private conference room.

I really enjoyed spending  time with Madelynn and hear all about her job which she luuvvvvvs!!

After I strolled around and checked out all of the spaces on board, including the galley/kitchen and bathroom, I settled down in my uber, plush comfortable leather seat. Our attendant, Madelynn along with our video demonstration showed us all of the features of our luxury coach as well as specified safety tips for our trip. I especially liked all of the exceptional safety features of this motor coach and the TV’s that dropped down with my very own noise canceling headset.

The biggest reason that made taking VONLANE my choice of travel was not only price but was the fact that I had wifi and power for my computer, so that I could use the 4 hour trip to work on my blog projects. Just like the airlines, you too can join the VONLANE rewards program. The more you travel with them, the more perks you get!

After we were under way, we were offered beverages and a nice assortment of healthy snacks which was a very nice touch.

OUTFIT DETAILS

My top is from Boyd Thomas, my favorite boutique in Maryville, Tennessee where I grew up and all of my family live. If you are ever in Maryville, then please stop by and say hi to the owners Bill & Marty. This top is similar and under $25.

Sneakers are a must when traveling. I wore a pair of heeled booties with my outfit, but changed into these cute comfy sneakers for the ride home.

I chose to sparkle a little bit, so I added this cool rhinestone cuff bracelet, (now 50% off) c/o Nina Shoes , and my tri colored, white diamond simulant bracelet from JTV c/o,  diamond spiral earrings, John Hardy diamond saddle ring and my Jude Frances diamond bracelet. I have collected so many beautiful fine jewelry pieces over my years and love the opportunity to wear them. I love how this Kendra Scott nail polish sets off all of the jewels!!

My red glasses are by French brand Alain Mikli.

As we entered a cool rainy Houston, I was not ready for my trip to be over. My trip went so fast and I could have easily gone cross country with great comfort and ease.

I really didn’t think that I would ever take a bus to Houston, but I will say that I will most certainly look forward to a future trip on VONLANE. Maybe to Austin next time!  This jet service on wheels is the way to go!!!!

Thank you VONLANE for partnering with me and driving me to Houston in SheShe style!
