Apps You Need This Summer | Weekend Wanderings

While it’s always good to “hang up and hang out,” I really believe that phones these days can do more than we can even imagine. I’ve been challenging myself to utilize this technology by downloading new apps, and help make my summer the best one yet. Below is a list of apps for all kinds of needs: financial, health, travel and just genuine entertainment; to help inspire you to let these tools work their magic and simplify (or enhance) your life. Enjoy!

Apps,

Wolfram Sun Exposure

This app actually tells you how long you can be in the sun without getting sunburned. Just put in your complexion, time and location to find out just how long you can soak up the rays, but analyzing the UV rays in your location. Finally, sun-bathing without suffering!

BillGuard

Summer has a tendency to bring about a bit more “carefree spending” on my end, but BillGuard helps keep me on track. The app lets you manage your spending habit, and keeps you aware of bills you have to pay. It alerts you of any irregular spending, and even alerts you on frequent charges for services you aren’t utilizing.

Peek

For someone who is traveling frequently this summer, Peek is the next app making it’s way to my home screen. This app allows you to find the best activities in popular tourist destinations, with the ability to customize and tailor your results. You can search for rainy-day activities, low-cost options, and kid-friendly ideas to find the most popular sites/events in any area.

Moment

This is a personal favorite of mine, to keep track of all your fun summer moment. This app reminds you to upload one photo per day as a “moment,” and then combines them all into a video at the end of the time frame you set. Then you can save and share, to keep a lasting memory of all your individual moments from summer 2018!

JEFIT

I haven’t tried this one yet, but it seems like the perfect app for getting in a workout while on vacation. JetFit has a huge library of fitness routines all, that you can personalize by choosing the parts of your body you want to target. You can use this app as a guide once you’re in the gym or in the comfort of your own home (depending on which routine you choose) and use this tool as a trainer- as it tells you what to do, time intervals to use, when to rest, etc, through animations and other instructions. The app will store your workout information for future sessions, and keep each session different from the last. Perfect for staying fit all summer long!

City Maps App

CityMapper

If you’re in a new city or traveling for the summer, this one if perfect for you. CityMapper is a maps app that’s made for large cities. It offers all possible transportation options in real time and includes how much each route will cost. This is a true lifesaver for when your Uber bill is getting a little too high 🙂

Let us know which apps you’re using these days, and which ones you’re going to try off of this list. And as always, happy weekend!
