Let’s admit it, we love looking great but comfort is key. Here today we have 7 tips on how to style a tunic top. I love them because they offer me the comfort without compromising my style. So how do we do that? Below are 8 ideas for you to spice up that tunic top into a stylish look.
Tunics are great because if you are bloated or have eaten too much Mexican food, have a belly or even if you are stick skinny then this style is so great. They really can hide a multitude of sins, however you can still be so cute if you use the following tips.
- WEAR OVER LEGGINGS | Get yourself a good pair of leggings. I really think you would like these from NYDJ and Hue or this faux leather legging from Lysee and Spanx. I would wear a cute pair of lace up flats, sneaker, boots, booties or over the knee boots with leggings.
- WEAR OVER FLARE LEG PANTS | For proportion, this is where I would belt the tunic or not works too. Wearing the top open front layered over a tank would look ver new and artsy. I really love this Lilla P tank top. Always try on your outfits before stepping out to make sure it is working.
- WEAR OVER SKINNY JEANS | Skinny jeans are a favorite of mine worn with oversized tops. You should have a grey pair and most definitely a black pair. I like these style here…..from NYDJ, love these from KUT and J Brand.
- WEAR OVER A PENCIL SKIRT | Depending on you height/size would depend on whether I would belt the top over a pencil skirt or wear the shirt as a jacket, but either is an option.
- WEAR AS A SHIRT JACKET | This is an easy breezy look that can be worn over any of the bottoms that you might choose. Again, it all depends on our proportions and how we feel in it.
- BELT IT | We haven’t seen belts in a while, but I am seeing them and I say did your back out again. If you are into designer products then this Gucci belt in gold logo ( silver logo ) is the bloggers toast of the town right now. I just ordered mine!! Need a more budget friendly belt then try this classic Kate Spade belt.
- ACCESSORIZE | OMG……let’s have some fun!!!! This is my favorite part of styling an outfit……accessories. Scarves, belts, necklaces…oh no….oh yes……. This is cooler temp season, even in Houston, I can don a pretty scarf. Wear your scarf Parisian style, like I have worn it here in the photo, around your waist like a belt and more. Wrap up in a blanket scarf for another scarf look. Wear a choker, long necklace or statement earrings. Have fun with your accessories!!

- Norman and I will be spending a week in East Tennessee with my family for Thanksgiving. We have a full calendar starting with the University of Tennessee vs Mizzouri football game on Saturday. As UT donors we always get the red carpet treatment, so if you are watching then look close on the field as we always get an up close look during pre game!! We will also shoot our Christmas photo in the poinsettia greenhouse like last year. Fingers crossed that our timing is right….It is an amazing place.
