New York Fashion designer Cesar Galindo flew back to his home state of Texas in May to make a personal appearance at the prestigious Texas Women for the Arts annual meeting and unveil his fall collection. About 120 well heeled women from all over the state of Texas dined at August E’s in Fredericksburg,Texas while viewing his gorgeous designs.
I had the unexpected privilege to dine at Cesar’s table and get to know the former Houstonian on a more personal level. It so happens that we knew so many of the same people in the fashion world. After dinner Cesar had a rush of enthusiastic ladies making their way back stage to pre order designs they fell in love with. I myself can’t wait to start adding CZAR pieces to my own collections.
Cesar was born and raised in Houston, Texas and the youngest of 11 children. His mother, a very accomplished seamstress, taught Cesar to sew at a very young age. Taking his time learning the art and building his clientele has led him to many successes. After all, surviving in New York as a fashion designer for over 20 years is SUCCESS!!
Besides designing his own collections, Cesar takes on other interesting projects. He is currently designing the staff wardrobe for the chic Asia de Cuba restaurants in Miami, New York, and Dubai as well as creating the costumes for the Milwaukee Opera Theatre’s production Cinderella this fall. He has previously designed for the Houston Grand Opera.
Also, this fall, he will once again show his collections at New York’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. He invited the entire group of Texas Women for the Arts to attend his show as his guest. I told him that the entire group will probably show up and he said “I will just have to get a “Texas ” sized tent. YEE HA!!!!!
