Leather and Lace really made it to street fashion in the 80’s with the help of a few celebrities like Madonna and Stevie Nicks. Stevie actually sang a song with Don Henley (The Eagles) called “Leather and Lace”. It was a story straight from her life. Man being the leather and woman the lace……masculine and feminine. In fashion, leather is the tougher more masculine texture, but mixed with the feminine lace makes for a contrast that is very appealing to our senses.
Leather and lace can be styled in so many ways, just use your imagination. I chose to make it a comfortable street style look by adding the drivers cap, skinny jeans and leopard loafers. A pencil skirt and a high heeled boot could be substituted instead for a dressier look or do leather pants or leggings with a lace top or jacket.
If you already have a leather jacket, then add a lace blouse or camisole in black or white to achieve the same look. Remember, fashion is a trend but style is a look that transcends, so feel free to change it up to make this look your very own style.
