Remember the “Track Suite”or “Sweat Pant”? Well, the track suite has come in and out of style for decades. It is best known as an outfit for athletes to wear for recognition during competition. lt is an article of clothing consisting of two parts; trousers and a jacket usually with a front zipper and was one of the earliest uses of synthetic fibers in sportswear. In past years we have only thought of this outfit as related to sports or leisure.
Today trendsetters have taken the pant and reworked it to stand alone without the matching zipper jacket and worn in other contexts. I have taken a men’s look here and paired the “track pant” or “sweat pant” with a patterned t-shirt, classic black blazer and pumps which makes for more of a day time, possible office look. Take away the blazer and add a longer more flowing tunic style sweater or jacket and a sassy clutch and you are ready for date night.
For a more casual look without looking like you are going to the gym, remove the pumps and add a pair of low top lace ups (like the Converse brand). Remove the blazer and go with an embellished sweat shirt or chunky sweater with some crystal jewel jewelry. The high low effect. Running shoes probably won’t work here.
I personally love these pants because of their versatility, ease and comfort, making them especially good for travel days. So get your sporty cinch sweat pant or track pant and have fun creating your casually chic street style outfit.
