The last regular season games for most colleges around the country are this weekend. Kind of sad if you love college football like myself. My husband went to University of Texas and I went to University of Tennessee. I bleed bright orange and burnt orange. Since we live in Texas, we mostly attend the Texas games. We share a suite with another couple at Darryl Royale Stadium in Austin and entertain 28 friends and family every home game. With that said I am always looking to buy orange to wear to the games to complete my game day outfit.
If you have ever been to a University of Texas football game, you have seen the young coed girls wearing their short orange dresses with their cowboy boots and their cowboy hats. Lace has been trending the last couple of years.
I definitely am not a young coed, but I do want to be hip without looking ridiculous. My take on this look is to add leggings or skinny jeans to my short dress….tunic style. For your cowboy hat, add a feather as I have done here, or a cool rhinestone broach, a concho or some leather wrapped around the crown of the hat. Make it your own.
Every college campus has their traditions. For example, the Ole’ Miss coed girls wear cocktail dresses with high heeled pumps. At the UT games we wear mostly comfortable , cool and orange attire. It is usually very hot until later in the season, however viewing the games from our suite gives me the opportunity to step up my football fashion game. I will tell you though, you will never catch me wearing high heeled shoes to a football game.
