There was a time that sunglasses were just to protect your eyes from the sun, but now sunnies are a statement accessory. I have been collecting for years. I have a big drawer where I keep them. Before I go out, I find the pair that best goes with my outfit. I guess that would be one definition of a fashionista!
I would say that Jackie O changed the whole sunglass industry when she made the very large sunglasses so iconic. Since Jackie and through the years we have seen so many trends in eyewear. What is really cool right now is the designers and manufacturers are recreating eyewear from the decades past. In fact, I found an old pair of large round Cartier’s in Norman’s drawer that he had from the 80’s and I have been wearing them. They are trending dead on. It is kind of like hem lengths….any length goes! That being said any style of eyewear is right in style.
