HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO SHESHE SHOW

Happy anniversary to SheShe Show! One year ago this week I made my first blog post on www.shesheshow.com. Looking back at the past year……oh what a journey for this girl.

It all started over the Christmas holidays of 2013 and I was frustrated that I didn’t know anything about the different social medias that so many were using. I asked my 19 year old grandson Carson, who is the social media guru, to explain YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and better help me with Facebook. It was at that time that he said “SheShe….you should do a YouTube show.” He showed me some examples and I got all excited because I could use my years of fashion experiences into a whole new way. It was going to be all new for me and a big learning curve. So, we shot the intro for my new YouTube show the next day and named it the SheShe Show. If you want to be entertained, you really should tune in. SheShe is my grandmother nickname and I had used it for years as a business name. (SheShe Boutique and Gallery and SheShe Designs) Using SheShe in the name just seemed the only way to go.

After 4 months of YouTubing, I met a young friend for lunch and she told me that I should do a blog and I said……”What is a blog?” Can any of you relate??? She explained and she said that I also needed an Instagram account. In addition she shared with me about an up and coming affiliate company called RewardStyle that I would want to be a part of. (I will tell you all about RewardStyle in a later blog post.) My head was swimming, but again I got all excited, because blogging seemed to fit me better than being a YouTuber. I consulted with my grandson Carson and he said “YES….do it SheShe. I can do a website for you and teach you how to do your own posts.”

I opened my Instagram account first and posted my first photo a year ago last month (May 2014) More learning, but sooooo much fun. I have not missed a post a day yet. All of you that think you have died and gone to heaven because you have mastered Facebook, you really need to move over to Instagram. It is very easy and not as much clutter in the feed…..mostly all visual with a little text.

By mid June 2014 my rough website www.shesheshow.com launched with a small little blog post about statement jewelry. It wasn’t until October that I began to post weekly and by the end of the year I was posting 3 to 4 days a week. Today I have over 6,400 followers on Instagram, over 8,000 views a month at www.shesheshow.com, and over 1,400 likes on Facebook. I can’t wait to see what happens by this time next year!! Trust me, blogging is a full time job, but I LOVE what I am doing.

My outfit for my 1 year anniversary was inspired by trying to define my style. Well….as you can see…..I love color, a little sporty with the shoes, classic modern with the top and skirt, some bohemian with the floppy hat & vest or make me a southwest girl with the vest, and a whole lot of fun with the embroidered clutch, and pom pom necklace. This mixed up looked best describes my style…..I am like a chameleon…..classic one day and totally trendy on another day while living a lot of my life in the sport mode. I think that is what makes fashion so much fun. I challenge you to step out of your typical style and explore a different you.
