India Hicks…..how many of you know who this is? Well….I learned about her in the 80’s when she was a brides maid in Prince Charles and Diana’s wedding. Her father, David Hicks was a famed interior decorator and from her mother’s side came the royal lineage, Earl and Countess Mountbattan of Burma. Her grandfather was the last Viceroy of India. Imagine that!!! All of the fame, privilege and wealth did not find her fulfillment in life, not even modeling professionally after she left England. Soul searching for years landed her in a remote island paradise in the Bahamas where she now calls home and is building a business that fits her to a T.
I could write about India for pages, but you can learn more about her through her books, which can be purchased through this link http://indiahicks.com/event/shesheshow/shopping There are also some great articles written recently in March edition of More magazine, April edition of Veranda and some others. She is so fascinating to me and I feel this kindred spiritual connection to her, maybe because I am so much like her. (well….not the royalty part)
The most important thing to know here today is about the vision of her new lifestyle company and the opportunity to purchase products from her first roll out. India Hicks….”Our vision for the company is to share our exclusive range of well-crafted gifts, fragrances and accessories directly into the heart of the home, defining the traditional shopping experience, by selling these collections through networks of entrepreneurial women and our dynamic E-commerce site.” These products are beautiful…..not your typical direct sales type of products, so you will see that reflected by the prices. If you like quality, then price will not be a factor. I particularly love the leather tassels. They make great girlfriend birthday gifts. You can use them as a key chain or attach them to you totes and handbags. I am buying the leather fold over clutch. It comes with a tassel already on it. Lynn gave me the beetle tote as a gift and added my initials in a beautiful bright orange monogram. I have already had so many compliments on it. Go to this link http://indiahicks.com/event/shesheshow/shopping and you can see all of the other products.
So how did I hear about this new company by India Hicks? One of the great things about being a blogger, I am the influencer to my followers. I am a publisher with information. Through this avenue companies or individuals come to me and ask me to help them market by sharing their goods and services to my followers. I always get some products to try or services to experience. One day about 6 weeks ago, I got an email from Lynn Cramer, a new Style Ambassador for the India Hicks company wanting to share the big news. She was the second Style Ambassador in Houston at the the time. I was especially curious when I heard the name India Hicks because I knew of her English royalty ties and that she was selling licensed products through HSN. I agreed to meet with Lynn, see the products up close and personal, plan a photoshoot and get the word out to all of you. After Lynn and I visited, we discovered that we were both retired American Airlines Flight Attendants, so we really hit it off….. Another new friend made through my blogger journey.
For one week Lynn is generously donating 20% of her commissions through sales from this blog post to the nonprofit group Texas Women for the Arts. http://www.txculturaltrust.org/programs/texas-women-for-the-arts/ They give over $200,000 a year to groups around the great state of Texas for under privileged children in arts programs. So check out these beautiful goods and “SHOP FOR A CAUSE”. http://indiahicks.com/event/shesheshow/shoppi
