At the root of the question of “what is a blogger?” is the blog itself. A fashion blog can cover many things such as specific items of clothing and accessories, trends in various apparel markets, celebrity fashion choices and street fashion trends. They cover fashion at all levels from the biggest to the smallest designers.
Many fashion blogs could also be categorized as shopping blogs, since “most of the conversation is shopping advice, liberally laced with consumer recommendations”. This is very similar to the content of fashion magazines. Some retailers in the fashion industry have even started blogs of their own to promote their products. (reposted from greytefashion)
MY THOUGHTS….. Bloggers, whether it be fashion, mommy, travel, food, interiors, etc….. are influencers. Why?….because we do the research for you, where you can go for instant information on your particular interests. Now, how does a blogger make money???? There are at least 3 ways that I can share with you.
#1. ADS on my website…..once approved, Google can place ads on my website. The more people engaged in my website, the more opportunity that big advertisers will want to be visual on my website and pay for the placement.
#2. PAID PER POST…..Advertisers (online retailers) or companies wanting to advertise their products can pay a blogger to post a story including professional photos about their product or service. The blogger might trade products for the post or products for the post plus a fee to post. The more engagement on the blogger website or social media, the more he or she can charge to do a blog post for an advertiser.
#3. PAID THROUGH SHOPPING MY LINKS…………This is where you can help me. Now, I know some of you do not shop on line, I get that….. and some of you would not help me no matter what and that is your prerogative…and I get that too. But if you shop on line and would like to help me then all you have to do is click on my links and shop as usual. There is no extra charge. Any time you see a word highlighted in hot pink or a picture (widget) of a product, you can click and it will take you to a website corresponding with a product that I am wearing or talking about. Should you purchase anything within the next 30 days after that click, I will be paid a small commission on your purchase.
RewardStyle, an innovative and elite affiliate company for bloggers and retailers, developed the software that tracks theses transactions. They bring the blogger (publisher) and the advertiser (retailer) together and the blogger brings the customers through their websites and social media followers. The retailer (advertiser) pays RewardStyle and RewardStyle pays the blogger when a sale is made. It is totally a new way of selling goods. Whew…I sure hope I explained that correctly.
If you don’t like to follow bloggers or don’t have time, you can sign up with your email on the right hand side of my blog page where it says SUBSCRIBE and every time I post, it will go right in to your inbox. Free of charge. The more I sell, my clout goes up with RewardStyle and I get more perks. I have a few friends that emailed me their favorite websites that they shop from and I created links for them that they save and use when they are going to order something online. Just email me at yosheshe@aol.com with your favorite websites and I will return the email with links created with my account through RewardStyle.
This blog post on “What is a Blogger” will be followed by a series of blogs about what I do and different forms of social media. I hope you will enjoy learning as I have. If you are of the younger generation, I feel sure you are already connected.
I will say I work very hard to give you, my readers, interesting posts. To be successful, I need to post 3 to 4 days a week on www.shesheshow.com and every day on @shesheshow on Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest and sell sell sell! The little pictures of items below are called widgets. Take a test run and click on a widget and it will take you to a place where you can shop shop shop.
Thank you for supporting me in something I love to do! I love fashion, I love taking photographs, and I love to write, so blogging fits me to a T. I just wish this opportunity was available 30 years ago. Xo, SheShe
