Welcome to Nordstrom’s Boots and Booties sale! SheShe’s Picks….Boots and Booties have been around since the 60’s and maybe before, but fortunately I can’t remember that far back. I do remember the Go Go Boots of the 60’s. That being said, every year “Those Boots Are Made for Walkin”…… This year, not much different from last year, boots are all over the place. The over the knee is still the “IT” boot. I think they are even going higher up the thigh. I will go over, but way up the thigh is for the younger set when they wear their very short skirts and dresses.
This year I am seeing a chunkier heel with a not so fitted calf. This look is great for those of you who have a thicker calf. They are also easier to walk in. A little rule of thumb…the higher and skinnier the heel, the more fitted on the calf. The lower or chunkier heel, the wider and not so fitted on the calf. Just like skirt lengths, choose what works for you.
The other big trend this year is a little more suede and a little more fringe. I love fringe. I keep thinking it will exit the fashion place, but this year is bigger than ever. Wear on your body, carry it on your are or wear it on your feet. It is the fringe trend. Now, for the booties…..Leave it to the blogger/fashionistas of the world to wear these short little boots with their skirts, short, pants and dresses be long or short. Booties, a must have in any wardrobe. They come in a contemporary style, western style, military/combat style, biker style, and am I missing a style? Take you pick or maybe you have a chameleon personality and need a pair of each for your every mood.
