What is a widget? Google explains a widget “as an application, or a component of an interface, that enables a user to perform a function or access a service.” Also, go to Wikipedia for their explanation.
For me and my use of widgets, they are a visual way to access an approved third party site. For instance, when you see photos under the Shop My Look on my site, any photos that aren’t of me or the numbers that are highlighted, you can click on the photo/widget and it will take you to the site to shop. They are all linked with coding. I link using coding when I place it into my website. I also link my very own coding developed my my affiliate company that allows me to get a small commission of any sales that are made when you go through the widgets on my site whether you buy that item or you find something else through that click that you like better. It doesn’t cost you anything. It is a whole new way of getting goods from the manufactures to the retailer and the blogger is now the sales person.
