HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY
Yes, it is Mother’s Day and it is a time to throw a lot of love to the mother or mother’s in your life. I am so blessed at this time of my life to be a mother in so many ways. In my books it is one of the most special days of the year.
You see, you don’t have to have had children yourself to be a mother. Take me for example. I have never had children, but I have more children than the old woman in the shoe. I am a mother in so many ways.
Daughter First of all, I am a daughter to the most wonderful woman that I can’t wait to see over Memorial weekend. I am the most thankful daughter on the planet. I know that many of you feel that way too, but really my mom is the best!! yep!!
Mommy to Miss “Pippa” If Pippa, my 5 year old Toy Fox Terrier was a human, I know that she would shower me with all kinds of gifts….. She knows that her mom loves accessories of all sorts and especially jewelry!
STEP-MOTHER & STEP-GRANDMOTHER
Whether you are a mother or stepmother, there is a role there. I have two of the most warm hearted and caring stepdaughters there are. You never know about these kind of situations, but we all have the same goal and that is to take care of Norman, my husband and their dad. Over the last 26 years we have developed a respect for each other where we always rally to each others needs when called upon. The love and support is amazing and I am forever grateful.
They have a maternal mother, so I am more like a sister to them unless someone messes with them, then the mama bear in me comes out and I will fight to the end for these girls. They both have families and just like every loving mom they go above and beyond for their children, always putting children first before their own wants and need.. They are a force and deserve adoration.
I have 6 step-grandchildren that I have been around since their birth, five boys and the youngest is our girl, ages ranging 19 to 27. That is crazy right? I am their rock star grandmother and in fact they gave me my nickname SheShe Jo La Rocka! What does that tell ya? I love hanging out with each and every one of these young people. As they get older they will be carrying on the traditions that have been set forth by their families. After all, there will be many special occasions for these kids in the future. Graduations, marriages, babies, birthdays, holidays and more.
MOM to So Many Wonderful Millennials
Last, I love my role as mother to so many young people. I have always been a magnet to them and them to me. I am especially grateful to be building a strong bond with Natalie who is the beauty in the photos below. We went to Africa together last summer and our friendship just keeps growing and in fact, we are planning our next adventure to Abu Dhabi and Rwanda, Africa to see the gorillas. She could be my daughter as age goes, but there again we are friends, but if she needs me then this mama bear to the rescue!!
So, by now I assume you understand that motherhood comes in different ways. When I decided that I would not have my own children, then I never in a million years would believe that I would be blessed with so many.
