Monogram History
Ever wonder where this (what seems like a thing of the South) came from? While we (the South) can take credit for a TON of trends, monograms are not one of them. Monograms started as far back as the early Greek and Roman history. Rulers of that era would put their seal on the currency to help identify where it came. In the Middle Ages, artists took the idea and applied monograms to their work as signatures. Even later, the Victorians also made monogramming their own to show off their wealth and status by wearing precious jewelry and expensive embroidery with their initials! Who would’ve known?!

One of the great things about monogrammed things is that they make the perfect gift not only for yourself but for others. Something that has been monogrammed is always a great gift and is so personal. When gifting or receiving a monogrammed gift it always seems more endearing than the usual gift! We are headed home (Houston) today after a very fast paced trip to Sanibel, Fla. The weather was so perfect. January can be really nice or really cold and rainy. We got the great January weather week this year. A day out on the boat with a ride up to North Captiva Island where we ate lunch a the cutest dive restaurant called Mainstay was such a nice change of scenery. Everyone with a boat had the same idea. We were all COVID safe because we ate outside on spaced out picnic tables.
