Classic looks are always in, but this year I am seeing the return of many looks that are so iconic like Grace Kelly or Catherine Deneuve. I personally love this look, but seldom go that direction, but this year (and this holiday season) I am feeling the love.
Remember, I did a post on the history of the full skirt a few blogs back and here I am again wearing a full skirt. LOVE IT!! This full skirt is so feminine and elegant. I am wearing this lace bustier here for this look, but the bustier could be worn without the dark red sash with black jeans, velvet skinny pants, palazzo pants, or pencil skirt under a white, red, hot pink, royal blue or black jacket or explore other options. A good bustier is a great investment. If you don’t like your arms, then add a jacket or sweater. I have been collecting bustiers from White House Black Market for years. They are sized 0-16 and I think they have a beautiful fit. They never go out of style…..timeless!
This skirt has this beautiful contrasting hem underneath, so you are not limited to a matching top because the red print hem can only be seen if you turn up the hem as I have done here.
This skirt is also not limited to just this look. It is so versatile. Take it down a notch or two and add a sweater or t-shirt tucked and throw on some cute ballet slippers, classic pump or a high top boot with a medium to high heel. In any of these looks, add some rhinestone jewelry or pearls would really take you back to classic Grace Kelly. Are you getting into the spirit of the season yet?
