BEST DRESSED
Last night, Hollywood’s finest arrived at the 2018 Oscars with their eyes on the prize and their outfits in absolute perfect order. We broke down the gowns, glitz and glamour for a brief list of our favorites, worst and just so, so looks from the night to start off your week. Let us know your favorites and worst dresses, or who we missed. There were some other gowns that we loved, but highlighted nominees and winners. Have a very happy Monday!
Nicole Kidman (Top Photo)
My absolute favorite dress of the night was Nicole Kidman stunning in a royal blue structured Armani gown. The Big Little Lies star paired the deep blue color with a red lip and sleek hair, putting this look at the very top of our list.
Jane Fonda
I just cannot believe that this icon is 80 years old. She totally rocked this white sequin gown. This ranks right up there with me!!
Jennifer Garner
Oh my goodness, another vibrant blue dress that stole the show…..Jennifer Garner never disappoints and it was great to see her back on the red carpet. Styled by Jill and Jordan, Jennifer looked stunning in a royal blue Atelier Versace gown!! Another SheShe favorite!!
Allison Janney
Nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in I, Tonya, Allison Janney deserves our love in this vibrant red gown by Reem Acra. Her tall lean body made the perfect mannequin for this awesome dress….and how about those jewels???
Our Reviews:
Don’t miss our worst dressed at the end of this post. eek!
Jennifer Lawrence
We think this gold Dior gown resembles an Oscar in every good way possible…elegant, attention-grabbing and deserving of allll the attention. Touché Jennifer Lawrence, touché. One review put her on the worst list, but not me…..I loved the entire look….messy hair and all!!
Margot Robbie
I really hate playing favorites, but this might just be the exception. Margot Robbie from I, Tonya stunned on the carpet last night with this Chanel gown, a true vision in all white!
Zendaya
A goddess in The Greatest Showman and on the red carpet, Zendaya seems to be taking this awards season by storm. While not too many people could pull of this brown color chiffon gown from Giambattista Valli Couture, Zendaya’s sleek updo completes the look perfectly.
Zoey Deutch
Known for her roles in Disaster Artist and Before I Fall, actress Zoey Deutch opted for the neutral tones last night on the red carpet. This Ellie Saab intricate beaded gown is a part of a new eco-friendly line of dresses, as if this look couldn’t get any better.
Lupita Nyong’o
Presenter and Star Wars star Lupita Nyong’o was the perfect example of edge last night, in this one-shouldered, shimmery gown. Designed by Versace, the gold color perfectly matches the gold hair accessory and Versace handbag.
Leslie Mann
Last but not least, we’ll end with some red on the red carpet. Leslie Mann is always one of our favorites, but this Zac Posen gown is certainly one of her all-time winning red carpet moments.
Viola Davis
Even though the color was over the top for the Oscars, it still stole my heart. I love bold colors!! Viola definitely had our attention with her fun glam Michael Kors gown. It was wonderful with her skin tones. I think it might have been a better choice for the Golden Globes or SAG awards.
Saroise Ronan
Although she didn’t take home the Best Actress award for LadyBird, Saroise Ronan stunned on the red carpet in the Calvin Klein gown. A spot on the best-dressed lists beats an Oscar…right?
Sally Hawkins
Talk about a winner in more ways than one. Sally Hawkin’s film, The Shape of Water took the coveted Best Picture award and Hawkins looked beautiful in this Armani gown. I personally have many other favorite dresses and her hair was a bit messy for such a classic dress. Just so so for me.
WORST DRESSED
WHAT…….were they thinking???? For heaven sakes, it’s the OSCAR’S, the biggest stage for fashion. I just don’t get it!!
Dinner suite, costume and chorus line….How would you describe these OSCAR looks. Amazing talent here but, Oscar would be embarrassed to go home with you!!
SHESHE’S TIDBITS
- Guess what next week is????? SheShe has another birthday!! When do they start slowing down? They are flying at me so fast these days. I have no big plans…..we have a lot of birthdays in our family this week, so I usually combine birthday celebrations. It’s just not a big deal anymore. I am just glad to be alive and healthy!! I will keep you posted if anything fabulous gets planned.
- Just trying to keep my head above water this week with all kinds of things going on……laying low this weekend and taking it easy after having cataract surgery yesterday. I had the other eye done a month ago. I am so excited to have great vision again. Can anyone relate?
