Yes, it is rodeo season in Houston, Texas. I mentioned in a recent post that rodeo fashions have evolved over the years. One thing that has stayed true to the look is cowboy boots, jeans, turquoise jewelry, cowboy hats and for some…….big hair! Today I am giving off the rocker vibe…….. I still have a western look but the black on black leather gives the western look a little rocker twist. Time for the rocker rodeo look!
I have had so many readers ask me about the Ya’ll T shirt. I bought it last year at a little market somewhere, but I have seen it again somewhere else. I will be looking around and if I find it, I will for sure let you all know where it can be found!
I kind of feel like a modern day Annie Oakely in this get up. Where is my holster and gun?
My leather fringe bag was made by a local gal named Ginger. She has a big booth at the convention center during the rodeo. I feel sure she is still doing this similar style. I have found a coupl of mini leather fringe bags for you at the end of this post.
Turquoise jewelry is so relevant in all styles of fashion, but I especially love it for a western look.
Belts have taken a back seat for a few years, but I love to wear them with my jeans during rodeo season. I think that it won’t be long before belts will be more prevelant again in mainstream fashion.
Whether you are from Texas or not, the allure of the wild wild west is such a part of our American culture that desginers are forever borrowing elements of the western fashion in to their couture designs.
