If you stay up late at night, there are all kinds of companies advertising their goods on tv and if you buy at that time then you get a special deal. Have you ever done that? Well, on occasion I do and most of the time I really do like the product, like the one I’m going to tell you about today.
A while back I saw this infomercial about a makeup airbrush called Luminess. Several times over the years I have had my makeup applied with an airbrush by a professional. I always thought how cool it would be to have my own. Well, I got one and I really do like it.
First of all, make sure you have allowed a little extra time for application. It is not a hurry up process. I don’t use mine dailey, but I love to use it when I have a special event. I have found that if I apply my foundation with my Beauty Blender first, then the airbrush application next, gives a beautiful finish to my face.
First of all I would advise using a plastic shower cap. Isn’t mine flattering???? You can get a diva one like I have selected for you at the end of this post or you can buy disposable ones. It will help keep the makeup from getting in to your hair. Next, decide what color of foundation is best for your skin tone. You will get a few colors in your kit. Plug your system in and hold the stylus (wand) like a pencil. Shake your bottle of foundation and then add 4 or so drops into the funnel. I mix 2 colors to get my skin tone.
Turn your system on and hold the wand 6-8 inches away from your face. Spraying too close will make the makeup look blotchy and caked on. Spray in a circular motion and always keep the hand moving to obtain a natural and flawless look.
If you want a little heavier coverage then repeat the process, just make sure you let the first application dry. It will just take a few minutes. The key is to apply each layer very lightly. One heavy layer will not work!!
Your Luminess kit, also includes liquid blush and a bronzer. Just follow the directions that come with your system.
When you are all finished, it is very important to clean your airbrush. It takes just a minute or 2 to clean and then you are all ready for the next time. All you do is run water through the applicator.
I finished my makeup with eyebrows, shadow, blush, mascara and lipstick. I usually finish off the look with a light dusting of translucent powder. This is the finished look. I was then ready for my night out with my husband Norman.
