Recently I was introduced to The Eye Gallery of Houston. They stock some of the most fashionable and rare eyewear brands in the world. Currently with 3 locations in Houston.
* River Oaks store 1806 B Westheimer phone: 713-523-1279
* Rice Village 2542 Amherst phone: 832-831-7253
* 1700 Post Oak Blvd (next to Whole Foods) phone: 713-622-7470
They are not just the ordinary eye wear store, but they are the Cadillac of eye wear stores. They stock brands including Barton Perreira, Anne et Valentin, Mykita and more. I guess I am not totally in the know in fashion, because I was not familiar with any of these brands. How about you?
After my introduction with owner Tina Ozcelik, I had a major education in eye wear. Now that I am 60 years old and the ole eye site isn’t as good any more, I want to find the cutest and most fashionable glasses to go with my cutest and most fashionable outfits. It seems that the fashionista’s of the world really only know about licensed products like Prada, Ray Bans, Tom Ford, Christian Dior, etc, etc….. What fashionista’s don’t know is about the craftsmanship of so many other manufacturers that really are worth the money they charge and smoke the licensed brands in style and quality.
Tina started her business in 2008 and has been in the eyewear industry since 1995. She Often travels the world in search for new ideas, inspiration and design concepts. Her experience as a buyer and manager within the industry helped her to get where she is today as the proud owner of The Eye Gallery of Houston.
This past year, Tina traveled to Silmo Paris to learn of new technologies and innovations while looking for original designs and of course upcoming fashion trends. Silmo Paris has been a contributor to the brands that The Eye Gallery carries in store since Tina first went to the world”s largest flagship store dedicated to vision. Customers who recognize and love brands in store such as Caroline Abrams, Xavier Derome and Thierry Lasry can thank Tina’s eye for fashion. Currently, Tina is looking at several new brands to bring back from Silmo this year while also adding new collections to existing brands. I am actually wearing a pair of trending blue Thierry Lasry sunglasses. I can’t say enough how differently they feel on my face as well as having the most trending design.
When asked “What type of customer will love these new collections:” Tina responded with, “The lady or man that wants to set themselves apart. The trendsetter, not the follower.” When asked to use one word to describe the collections she sees at Silmo Paris, Tina responded with a smile and said “Incredibly creative. It needed more than one word.”
Tina explains the most of the trending eyewear fashions are introduced in Europe, and once successful, brought over to the United States where we have one of the largest markets for eyewear. She is one of the first to introduce these brands to the US market.
With all of this being said, please join Tina and her very knowledgable staff this Saturday between 10am and 6pm for a great eyewear display of one her french designers. Appointments can be made for this location by calling 713-622-7470. I will be lurking around mid day for a couple of hours trying to learn more myself about these great eye wear companies.
