We all love our pets and every year the pet industry grows. What is that saying about our culture?? Unconditional love is what we are craving. This is why we are bring to you today the holiday gift guide for pet lovers.
Norman and I have had a dog pretty much since the year after we married in 1993. After we decided not to have children together then we got Dexter, our Jack Russell Terrier who passed 6 years ago at 16 years old. He truly was everything to us and it was our greatest loss together we he passed. One more thing about Dexter…..he was famous in Houston. Even though we got him from a breeder, he became Houston’s poster boy for the SPCA back in his day. He was also on all of our commercials and more. Everyone knew Dexter! I should share some of Dexter’s tales. I could write a book. Below is a poem from a friend who new and loved Dexter. The sweetest gift ever!!
After a year of grieving, we began the search for a new dog. Because we could never replace Dexter and didn’t want to make comparisons, we decided on a female and a different bread. Dexter is forever in our hearts, but we now have a new love affair. So let me introduce you to Miss ‘Pippa’.

Miss Pippa (above) our Toy Fox Terrier at 2 months old. She weighed a pound and a half. Now, our baby girl weighs 7 pounds and will be 5 years old on Dec. 31st. Yes, a New Year Eve birthday. She is so very different from Dexter, but has found that special place in our hearts in a very short amount of time. Funny how that happens. I could keep going on and on about our furry 4 legged friends and I know we are not the only ones that feel the way we do. Feel free to share your stories about your pets. We would love to hear them!

- Wednesday Woman Crush is coming up tomorrow. I can’t wait to introduce you to a new contributor to SheShe Show. This beautiful lady will be doing a Food feature once a month. If you don’t know, I don’t really enjoy cooking that much but I am a self proclaimed foodie. I cut out recipes but I haven’t baked a cake in over 20 years. True!!! Anyway, if you will subscribe to us then you will not miss a recipe.
- We had a set back on our paint work here at the house. They painted our bedroom yesterday and the color is totally wrong. We are throwing up 3 new colors today in hopes to get the right shade. I am really good at decorating but I suck at choosing the right paint colors!
