Houston Area Church Services
Lakewood Church
This mega-church in Houston is perhaps most well-known for the pastor, Joel Osteen. With a giant facility and crowd of loyal attenders, Lakewood will be hosting numerous Christmas services to commemorate the season with worship and communion.
- Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
- Sunday at 8:30 a.m and 11:00 a.m., and a 2:00 p.m. service for Spanish-speakers.
Second Baptist Church
Second Baptist has a whopping SEVEN locations around the Houston area. Pastor Ed Young leads this church, promising Christmas services perfect for the whole family. Make sure to check their website for specific locations/times!
- Friday at 6:00 p.m. (1463 and Cypress locations)
- Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- Sunday at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m, 4:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m.
Woodlands Church
This church also has three locations, across the north Houston region. Kerry and Chris Shook founded the church back in 1993, and are celebrating the church’s 25th annual Christmas Eve service this year.

- Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. (Woodlands and Atascocita campus)

Annunciation Catholic Church
Annunciation is a Catholic church right in the heart of Houston. Across from Minute Maid Park, this classic church is the perfect blend of urban and traditional.
- Sunday at 4:00 p.m. (children’s play and service), 5:30 p.m., 11:30 p.m., 12:00 p.m.
- Monday at 6:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m.
- Octave of Christmas services: December 26th- 31st.
Galveston Area Church Services
Island Church
Island Church is a non-denominational church located near the beaches of Galveston, Texas. Pastors Rusty and Leah Martin invite you to spend your Christmas in the warmth of Texas sun and on the coast of one of our finest beaches.
- Sunday school at 11:00 a.m.
- Sunday worship service at 10:45 a.m.
Austin Area Church Services
Austin Stone
Austin Stone Community Church has five different locations throughout the Austin area. It is known as a church for the city, located in urban Austin area as well as more residential areas. Be sure to check out their website for specific times across their locations.

Saint Mary Cathedral
This catholic church has plenty of mass times during the Christmas season. Saint Mary’s also has an advent reading plan available on their website, for some pre-Christmas devotional readings.
- Saturday vigil at 5:30 p.m.
- Sunday at 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 1:45 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 8:00 p.m., 11:15 p.m., 12:00 p.m.
Gateway Church
This “come as you are” church has four locations throughout the city. Senior pastor John Burke and the rest of the leadership team will lead services on December 23rd and December 24th.
- Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
- Sunday at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 5:00 p.m.
San Antonio Area Church Services
Holy Spirit Catholic Church
Located on Blanco road, this catholic church is perfect for San Antonio residents looking for a Christmas worship service. Services are held all weekend long, and the church offers these services in both English and Spanish.
- Saturday Vigil Mass at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (Spanish)
- Sunday at 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 4:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m. (Spanish) and a Christmas concert at 11:30 p.m.
- Monday at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Alamo Heights United Methodist Church
This methodist church is led by pastor David McNitzky. The church will host numerous Christmas Eve worship services, and if you want to hear some of their past services you can listen to their sermon feed online.
- Saturday at 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Cornerstone Church
This non-denominational evangelical church in San Antonio is home to over 20,000 active members. Run by the Hagee family, this church has candlelight Christmas Eve services to meet your family’s needs.
- Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Dallas Area Church Services
Watermark Dallas
This mega church has three locations: Dallas, Fort Worth and Plano. The campuses are modern (and gigantic), and offer Christmas services perfect for the family.
- Saturday at 9:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. (Forth Worth and Plano locations)
- Saturday at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 11:00 p.m.
Highland Park United Methodist Church
Right in the heart of Dallas (and right beside Southern Methodist University), Highland Park United Methodist Church offers both traditional and contemporary candlelight services. A team of pastors will be leading these services, and the church will also be hosting carols, family nativity services and “the feast” on Christmas Eve.
- Traditional: 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 8:00 p.m., 9:30 p.m., 11:00 p.m.

Prestonwood Baptist Church
For those of you in the suburbs of Dallas, Prestonwood Baptist Church might be a more convenient choice. The church has locations in Frisco, Plano and Lewisville and is home to a huge team of pastors. If you can’t make it out to one of these locations, Prestonwood will also be streaming their Christmas services on both their website and their app. Childcare is available, and baptisms will occur during the 11:00 service
- Saturday at 5:00 p.m. (Plano campus only) and 7:00 p.m.
- Sunday at 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Holy Trinity Catholic Church
Holy Trinity is a Catholic Church in the Oak Lawn community of Dallas. This church will be hosting plenty of Christmas Eve and Christmas day services, and also has an advent reading available on their website.
- Saturday at 4:00 p.m. (children’s service), and 10:30 p.m.
- Sunday at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. (Spanish only service)
