Happy Mothers Day to all of you who are moms to your children, pets, step mothers or a mom figure. Today is your day so milk it for all it’s worth is what I say. Today I am going to share some of my thoughts about this Mother’s Day 2020.

First of all, I miss you mom…….

I lost my mother 2 1/2 years ago. My how time flies by. My grief has gone from a lot of tears to a lot of sweet smiles, even though I still have some tears now and then. I still have those moments when I am driving down the freeway and start calling her number. I also think about her when I go for my walks. It was always the times when I would call her and catch up and of course those calls to ask her a ‘what should I do’ question. Can any of you relate to what I am saying?

A Mom’s Role

My thoughts here is a big subject because being a mom or celebrating a mom in your life can mean so many different things to each of us.

For me, I have two step amazing step daughters, mama to Miss Pippa (my Toy Fox Terrier) and a mom figure to so many young people that have come through my life. Each relationship is different but I will say that as a mother or mom figure I am always ready to give support, advice, and so much unconditional love. Forgiveness is also a part of this mother role…..right? As we go through life experiences we have more patience as well, mainly because we are wiser and realize that patience is really a virtue!

Final Thoughts

Now that my mom is no longer here on earth, my own motherly antenna’s are so much more acute. I find myself taking more time to share my thoughts with my grandchildren, nieces and nephews and even my sweet assistant. They all have mother’s however, we can still offer motherly advice. It just might be wisdom that can change the direction or attitude of their lives.

So, my heart is tender today just thinking about my mom and my role as a mom. I also am thinking about all of you who are celebrating your moms or hopefully being celebrated yourself. May God Bless each and everyone of you on the very special day!!
