Cabana Life

Cabana Life swimsuit and shirt dress as coverup

Cabana Life has been a go-to for me for YEARS! I am excited to work with one of my favorite SPF brands, Cabana Life to share some really cute clothes and swimwear.

Founded by Melissa PapockCabana Life is one part of her plan to educate men, women, and children about the dangers of deadly cancer called melanoma as well as partnering strategically with numerous non-profit organizations.

At the very young age of 26, Melissa was diagnosed with malignant melanoma. It is the most common cancer among women between the ages of 25 and 29. Through her journey, she discovered that ordinary clothing was giving very little protection against the harmful rays of the sun. Her doctor informed her that there was protective clothing available, but she was so disappointed in what was on the market. Yuck!!! That is what motivated this fashionista to design a very colorful stylish line of swimwear and clothing, not just for survivors but for all of us and she calls it Cabana Life. Gotta love the name!!!

Their cute styles will take you one step closer to sun protection helping you prevent skin cancer. Come on friends play safe with sun protection.

Coldesina is hot on our radar! What a great time to share this brand as it is women-led by two sisters!

The current Coldesina Designs collection is at the realization of a lifelong dream of bringing to life a wholly unique collection of sophisticated sexy resort and sportswear. Coldesina is inspired by travel and fun. What’s new and exciting, and living every day – in the moment. The collection centers around clean, simple, and easy-to-wear styles from day tonight. All silhouettes are designed in proprietary prints and timeless colors appealing to women of all ages and body types.

Joining their mother Mary’s successful studio in the early ’90s, where she was expanding her own collection of stretch banded lace across high-end boutiques and majors coast to coast, Catherine and Christine launched Coldesina swimwear, the line was sold in resort hotels and boutiques, and was featured on Kathy Ireland in sports illustrated’s famous swimsuit issue.

Coldesina Designs has been innovating in luxury, sporting, and travel apparel for women for 28 years.

The Oula Company

Sheree Frede in woman owned business Oula

As a lover of all things color, The Oula Company resonates with me and aligns with everything I love in fashion! Not only is it woman-owned, but it is also black-owned!

Under fair conditions, all OULA garments are hand-cut and sewn locally in the USA, which results in a smaller carbon footprint. Their goal is to make classic, practical pieces from comfortable, durable fabrics that will last a lifetime and never end up in a landfill. OULA is wearable art that you will cherish forever. In addition to their use of African Wax Fabric, they also source dynamic vintage deadstock textiles globally for their limited edition and small-batch runs. Perfect for travel, OULA is functional, lightweight, packable, and wrinkle-resistant.

OULA focuses on wearability and the perfect fit. They create trans-seasonal contemporary garments that exude simplistic ease and complement busy lifestyles. When you wear OULA the whole year, through each of the seasons, your purchase speaks more to longevity and value than fast fashion. OULA is versatile and, based on your personal style, can be worn to work, dinner, or as coverups on vacation.

Vibrant colors and patterns are OULA’s signature. They source Ankara (African Wax Fabric) globally and our visual language is inclusive and historically dynamic. OULA believes style can liberate and empower and their design ethos is particularly influenced by the Black Is Beautiful movement which reached its peak from 1962-1979. Black Joy is their aesthetic and their promise for all to celebrate. OULA inspires iconic natural beauty in numerous manifestations. OULA offers styles XS-XL and spends a great deal of time fitting their designs on different body types in a range of 5’3-5’10.

The founder and CEO, Erika Dalya Massaquoi, is a globetrotter and owns a closetful of vintage from around the world; hence, the elevated retro vibe of OULA reminds us of the fashion feel of the 60s and 70s. A contemporary art curator and former Assistant Dean at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, Massaquoi also worked as a fashion journalist and professor. OULA draws inspiration from the art of foreign and experimental film as Massaquoi also holds a Ph.D. in Cinema.

Tara Grinna

Tara Grinna is the Original Designer brand of Swim Separates from their atelier in Conway, South Carolina. Tara’s vast knowledge of the female form is evident in her reputation as being the designer with the best “fit in the industry” for more than 30 years. Her use of vibrant and bold prints established her as a young designer to watch in the early 90’s and she quickly became the main supplier of the top swim specialty stores in the USA and neighboring islands to the south. Tara offered her customer a gorgeously luxurious fabrication with a style and fit that not only flattered most women but also accommodated women who were considered “the most difficult to fit” in bra sizes and styles that were not yet available in the industry at that time.

The brand is NEVER available in department stores and production is always limited, making Tara Grinna a very high quality and coveted fashion label and one which women love to collect and cherish for years.

While continuing to supply these loyal few better swim specialty retailers, Tara Grinna is no longer only swimwear and has expanded into a luxury resort brand for both warm and cold weather holiday travel. The current product line ranges from its vast swimwear and cover-up style offerings to handmade raffia hats and totes, polarized sunglasses, footwear, resort, and travel leisurewear, silk hand-rolled hemmed scarves, linen and cotton scarves and pareos, handmade jewelry, and even cashmere, lux fur and cashmere capes for the winter holiday getaway. Tara’s leather handbag and fragrance lines are on the horizon, making the shopping experience at a Tara Grinna Boutique a complete luxury resort fashion experience. No matter where your next holiday travel takes you, (to the Islands or to the Alps), Tara Grinna wants to be in your suitcase!

All Tara Grinna swimwear is currently manufactured at the company-owned facility in the USA from Italian fabrics. All printed fabrics are exclusive designs. Other resort wears, some cover-ups, and most accessories are made in Italy by the hands of Italian Artisans. Annually, Tara spends a lot of time in Italy working directly with her suppliers to bring her client the newest fashion with the best quality at a reasonable price. It is also not unusual to find her at one of her boutiques, to personally deliver and debut new products, to get to know her clients, and to gather ideas for future fashion!

French Kande

As a lover of jewelry, this line is THE LINE! Chunky oversized jewelry is trending and I believe it will be for quite some time. Not only that, but layering necklaces is always super stylish and these are PERFECT for layering! French Kande is a vintage forward® jewelry line created by indie designer Kande Hall. Her collections feature stunning, vintage French medallions from the 1960’s that she discovered during her travels throughout France. Gifted to their best customers as a token of appreciation by local businesses, each medallion is a story waiting to be told. Each offers its own unique history and brilliantly captures the style and attitude of the glorious French culture. Designed and manufactured entirely in her hometown of Los Angeles, every design and casting is proprietary: designed personally by Kande Hall and branded exclusively for our use. If it doesn’t say French Kande, it simply isn’t. Using natural materials of the highest quality possible and working only with Los Angeles and U.S.-based manufacturing resources, every length of chain, every strand of stone and pearls is personally curated by Kande to insure quality and reflect her trademark aesthetic. Timeless in its design, Kande’s jewelry speaks boldly, yet it is undeniably feminine. Her SoCal lifestyle has shaped her “throw on and go” attitude regarding her collections’ style and wearability; it’s the perfect accessory for a day at the beach or a night on the town. How beautiful is this brand?
