It’s Rodeo season here in Houston. One of the city’s largest and longest-lasting events that has Texans geared up and people traveling from all over the world to attend. Since 1931 Houston has celebrated western culture with the Houston Live Stock and Rodeo. From carnival rides, BBQ, concerts, shopping, and entertainment, RodeoHouston is a must attend event. One of my favorite things about it is seeing all of the new fashions for ranch wear and western wear for the season. Whether you’re planning on attending RodeoHouston, traveling to Nashville, or looking for some cowgirl inspirtation, you’ll find a few of my favorite western wear fashion picks below!

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo promote agriculture by hosting an annual, family-friendly experience that educates and entertains the public, supports Texas youth, showcases Western heritage and provides year-round educational support within the community. Since its beginning in 1932, the Rodeo has committed more than $600 million to the youth of Texas and education. The 2024 Rodeo is scheduled for Feb. 27 – March 17. Turquoise earrings, necklaces, and rings are just a few pieces I like to use to add that right fun pop. With supporting my local Texas girls, a good go to is always Kendra Scott. She’s a local girl from Austin and always has those iconic and beautiful pieces to wrap up your rodeo look! Belts and hats are a total must-have for all southern ladies. Loving this leopard turquoise concho belt!!!
Not everyone prefers to carry a handbag around the rodeo. I personally need one. Between my keys, phone, wallet, lippie – oh you get it – I need something with a roomy interior and gorgeous detailing like the the Lorelei Crossbody, it easily makes this one of my favorite accessories for rodeo.
Lets not forget about hats! I love this custom turquoise Charlie 1 Horse cowgirl hat from a fabulous seller on Etsy. Perfect for all the frizzy hair days and unpredictable weather!

SHOES (…well, mainly cowgirl BOOTS)
No western outfit would be complete without cowgirl boots!! These boots were made for STRUTTING with that fun fringe detailing and goes perfectly with my choice for hat. However, cowgirl boots aren’t the only type of shoe to wear – go for a western styled bootie, chunky buckle heeled sandals, or southwest inspired flats!
