I have had a very blessed year…..AGAIN!! Bring it on 2016!
As I look back on 2015 and the resolutions that I made, it gives me a chance to reflect on my life as I try to live it and say “bring it on” to 2016. Well….I think I will give myself a B- for sticking to my resolutions. You can go to my archives of January 2015 for my 2015 New Years Resolutions. This is how it went:
REPORT CARD
B- | For staying close to God.
I continue to read my daily devotional and I don’t miss too many days. I try to pray or arrow prayers daily, but so much room to grow. I just need to keep the world from interfering. Being a blogger, the world gets big and in the way, so I need to keep focused on the the one who brought me!!
A | Continue to learn about social media as it relates to sharing my fashion & lifestyle blog.
If I don’t say so myself, this 60 yr old girl has so much more knowledge on social media than any one in my age group on this subject matter. This year I have learned a little more about everything!!! I also was accepted to the prestigious platform for publishers RewardStyle back in April which brought about another huge learning experience. In October I started working on a newly designed website that now can stand up with the big girls. I am proud to unveil it through this post!! I do hope you like my new flamingo logo!! It is so SheShe!
C | Exercise at least 3 to 4 days a week doing a mix of Pilates, yoga, weights, and different cardio activities.
Well, this is where I really fell short!! I have my list of excuses, but I really have only been exercising 2-3 days a week and lucky if I can make that happen. I will continue to try and get back on track.
A- | Be loving, considerate, and patient with my husband, friends, and family.
I really believe that I have been really good on this one. I guess I should ask my husband what he thinks?????
B | Spend more time with my mother in Tennessee.
I went to Tennessee by myself in June to hang out with mom. When I am by myself, I can stay with her and have some really great quality time. We went back for Thanksgiving and took her out for a nice dinner celebrating her December birthday. I will go back by myself in 2016. I can’t wait!!! I love my mom so very much and cherish every minute I can spend with her!
A- | Finish decorating our vacation home in Colorado.
I did a very good job on this one. I would say that I am 90% done. I just ordered 2 chairs and then I just need to hang some more pictures and we will be done. The landscape went in after we left in August. Stay tuned in 2016 for the big reveal. This house is the best house I have ever designed and decorated!!
A+ | Start designing our beach house at Cinnamon Shores, TX.
Soon after the first of this year, it became clear that we did not need another home at this time of our life. Too much upkeep and always feeling guilty for not going there enough. We sold our lot and not sad at all. We also sold our 8 acre home in Austin in May. This was not on my resolution list, but totally glad to streamline our lives. We work work work to get get get for what what what????? A lot of headache. Lock and leave thank you!
A- | Once a week clean out and reorganize one drawer or cabinet in my house. It is time to purge!!!
I have really done good on this one. I didn’t do it weekly, but in the whole, I have cleaned out a lot of cabinets and purged a lot of clothes out of my life!! Norman and I will both continue on this still much needed project!
A- | Take a big trip somewhere to celebrate my BIG BIRTHDAY!!
I definitely took a nice trip in March to Palm Beach. Not my first choice, but I don’t want to sound spoiled. We went there to look a Sport Fishing boats. It is a beautiful area and I had a grand time on my 60th!!
NO MATTER WHAT LIFE CHALLENGES BRING THIS YEAR, I RESOLVE TO NEVER, NEVER, EVER GIVE UP!!!!
Thank God there were no accidents or major health crises. Norman did have back surgery, but it was much needed and he is doing great!
Tomorrow I will add a couple of more New Years Resolutions to this list and next year we will see again how I faired.
