Christmas is the most beautiful time of the year. I have collected many Christmas decorations through the years. I have Santa collections, nativity collections, Department 56 North Pole collections, fairy collections, and of course ornament collections, mostly by Christopher Radko. Today we’re taking a look at how get my home in the Christmas spirit.
Since my home is a mediterranean style, I wanted to bring in a Ralph Lauren look using plaid ribbon, pinecones and pheasant feathers. I love using red and green and keeping it very natural and classic.
About 10 years ago I was able to add this 6′ traditional Santa Clause. He is bigger than life!! He has the most beautiful features, especially his face with his rosy cheeks. I also love his red velvet suit trimmed in fur.
I added a few of my Mark Roberts Fairies to Santa, adding a little more interest. See if you can find them? I also took a larger fairy and sat him in a tall candelabra. He commands attention on my kitchen island.
Every year it is so fun to bring out the decorations. With every piece or collection, there is a memory that gives me the warm fuzzies. That is part of the magic of Christmas!
