Happy Memorial Weekend to all. This is a special weekend for me personally, but before I get into my personal story, I wanted to share with you all of the great sales going on and my favorite is the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale.
This sale started a couple of days ago and goes through June 4th, so you have some time, but I will say that there were a few things I had in my cart and before I could make my purchase, they were sold out in my size. So with free shipping and free returns, don’t hesitate to make your purchase asap. You can make several purchases without costing you any extra. I even buy 2 sizes if I am not sure of my size and return the one that doesn’t fit.
Below I have curated some favorites of mine in different categories for you. Need a pair of new jeans or some new tops? How about a dress for a summer wedding or a new designer handbag and sunglasses? There are so many great deals. Have fun!

What Memorial Day Means to Me
My dad was in the Air National Guard as a weekend warrior until he retired. That means he had a civilian job, but served our country on a part time basis. He was in the refueling group where he refueled fighter jets while in the air. Crazy, right?? He loved it and had so much pride. He actually served in both Gulf Wars and I also remember when he went to Germany for a year during the Cuban missile crisis in the early 1960’s. I am sure that is how I got my love for aviation.
During all of those years his patriotism never wavered and that love for his country was passed down to me and my sisters. When he passed away, even though he wasn’t a full time military man, he was given a full military burial with a 21 gun salute and fly over. I will never forget how I felt that day. So proud of my dad!
This weekend, amongst all of the fun, family & friends, please don’t forget about the thousands of men and women who gave their lives for us to have our freedoms. Also, if you know a veteran or a serviceman or woman, do something nice for them. Shake their hand, but them dinner or at least shake their hand and thank them.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
