There was a time not too long ago that wearing white sneakers was a no-no, but now it is definitely the hipster trend and I hope it sticks around for a while. Today, we have curated a group of about 20 white sneakers in all prices ranges and a variety of brands. If you don’t have at least one pair of white sneakers then now is the time to jump on board. Your feet will love you!!
Do any of you remember PF Flyers? “Run and jump in your PF Flyers” was the slogan in the 60’s. Would you believe that company is still around? I never see any adds but I included a pair in our edit that I actually like. Back then there was only PF Flyers, Adidas, Converse, and Keds being the oldest brand. Do you have any idea how old Keds are? Answer: 102 years old.
During the first half of the century, this style of shoe was worn for sports only, but in the 50’s they became a fashion statement. I remember when James Dean wore them in the movie A Rebel Without a Cause causing a real sneaker craze.
Then came along Nike in 1971 but didn’t become a household name until Michael Jordan made them famous in 1984 when he signed a contract to wear the Nike Air Jordan. Since then, the technology has gotten better and better, therefore, driving prices over a $100. Today, there are designer brands like Gucci, Burberry, Golden Goose and more that can cost as much as $800.
With all of the brands on the market today, how in the world does one choose? I am guilty of buying what is trending, but recently I tripped across a sneaker by Tretorn. I had never heard of them but thought oh well, just try them out. They are made of canvas uppers, but they have a cushion inner sole that is heaven to wear. I would highly recommend. I also like the oldie but goodie Chuck Taylor Converse sneaker because they are so nostalgic as well as the Adidas sneaker.
When styling my white sneakers, I really don’t have any rules. I wear them with my jeans, shorts, skirts, and dresses. It usually depends on where I am going and what my day or night looks like.
After years of on my feet and wearing stilettos, I am thrilled to have the option to wear my sneakers. So for now, they are the stylish shoe to wear. Let’s just hope that this trend lasts forever!!

SHESHE’S TIDBITS
- We just got back to our Eagle Dawn River Ranch in Montrose, CO a couple of days ago. We are almost acclimated to the elevation. Norman and I were both really tired all day yesterday. It is so nice to be back here again after almost a year. My how time flies by. It is hot during the day but gets down into the low 60’s in the evening, but very dry. This part of the country needs rain so bad. Stay tuned for a blog post about the steps of grieving the loss of a loved one. It has almost been a year since the passing of my sweet mom. I miss here so much!
