Happy Valentines Day sweet readers! This holiday always comes just in time every year. We are in the dead of winter and Covid-19 still lurking its ugly head up everywhere we turn. Wouldn’t you say it is time to celebrate the season of love? Today’s message is full of sweetness just like you and for you!
A Little History of Valentine’s Day
The day of romance we call Valentine’s Day is named for a Christian martyr and dates back to the 5th century, but has origins in the Roman holiday Lupercalia. The history of Valentine’s Day and the story of its patron saint is shrouded in mystery. We do know that February has long been celebrated as a month of romance and that St. Valentine’s Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition.
Celebrate Our Love Language?
Interesting subject, right? We wrote this post a couple of years ago but well worth the read. I believe that our love language translates in so many ways, no matter the relationship. It is definitely what we are needing more of in our world today.
Celebrate Ways to Love Yourself
If you don’t have a significant other, that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. How about loving yourself for this special day? Read this post below that we published last week. It is a feel-good post just for you!!
We Celebrate You
Love is a powerful word and a powerful feeling. I often feel so loved by my readers and followers so today I want to take a moment to give a lot of love right back at ya!! You can find love in the most non-traditional ways so all you have to do is be open to receive it! I hope you all have a wonderful love-filled day! XO, SheShe
OUTFIT DETAILS
My cute top by Chico’s has little lipsticks on it. So dang sassy….. Be sure to check out their sales going on right now with many of my favorites starting at $19. My wide-leg pants by Norma Kamali have been re-stocked over and over for 2 years now. If you are petite, then it is so easy to cut them off to a length that is right for you. Trust me that these pants are flattering on so many body types. That is why they are on repeat every year. I added my corset belt to give it a vintage/modern vibe and not to forget a pop of pink with a beautiful suede pump. Of course, I never leave without my earrings.
SHESHE’S TIDBITS
Houston is bracing for the biggest arctic freeze in 40 years or more. It is going down to 21 degrees tonight and 10 degrees tomorrow night. We have lots of tropical plants in our yard and it is almost impossible to protect them all. I told Norman that we will probably have a huge landscape bill this year because we will probably lose a lot. I really will be praying for the farmers that will lose their crops, especially citrus crops. We are on a roll……what next!
