Happy Valentine’s Day sweet readers! This holiday always comes just in time every year. We are in the dead of winter here in Houston with an unheard of 4″ of snow this week. Wouldn’t you say it is time to celebrate the season of love and warm things up? Today’s message reminds us of 2 ways we can celebrate the season of love. It is also full of sweetness just like you and for you!
A Little History of Valentine’s Day
The day of romance we call Valentine’s Day is named for a Christian martyr and dates back to the 5th century, but has origins in the Roman holiday Lupercalia. The history of Valentine’s Day and the story of its patron saint is shrouded in mystery. We do know that February has long been celebrated as a month of romance and that St. Valentine’s Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition.

WEAR YOUR HEARTS DURING THE SEASON OF LOVE
We scoured some great places to find some cute and unique items below. to wear or to gift. I have been collecting love symbols for years. One of my latest hearts is this heart pendant necklace by Jan Win Jewelry. It is a keeper. I also love this heart necklace by Brinker & Eliza that is a little more budget-friendly.

SHESHE’S TIDBITS
Houston and much of the south just had the biggest arctic freeze with a minimum of 4″. It got down to 21 degrees but I was prepared and got many of my plants covered. We have lots of tropical plants in our yard and it is almost impossible to protect them all. I told Norman that we will probably have a huge landscape bill this year. I pray for the farmers who might lose their crops, especially citrus crops. We are on a roll……hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, freezes, drought, and more……what next? I am looking on the positive side and hope we have some calm weather moving forward.
It is resort wear season for those of you who can get out of town. I just returned from the Caribbean where I cruised on the APEX, a Celebrity Edge Series Ship. It was just what the doctor ordered. Next month I am heading to Iceland…..polar opposite…. but I am soooo excited! I am digging in the SheShe archives for all of my cold-weather gear.
