DIY With Ellen | How To Make a Faux Marble Planter

plants, succulents planter, marble planter, home, garden,

Hello everyone! I’m excited to be back on SheShe Show to share another fun & SUPER easy DIY with y’all. When Sheree and I first chatted she mentioned she loves succulents, and with Spring just around the corner it’s the perfect time to spruce up your home with plants and flowers!

I love the modern and sleek look of marble, but the real deal can be a bit pricey sometimes. If you’re on a budget, or just enjoy the satisfaction of creating something yourself then these faux marble planters are for you!

Step – by – Step

  1. Take the aluminum can, and peel off the original label all in one piece. This will make a great template for your contact paper. Be sure the inside of the aluminum can is clean before moving on to step two. 🙂
  2. Take the aluminum can’s original label, and lay it down on the back side of the contact paper. Using a pen or pencil trace the shape of the label onto the contact paper.
  3. Cut and trim your contact paper according to the lines you have traced.
  4. Gently peel off a small edge to the backing of the contact paper, and apply to the aluminum can, slowly smoothing out any air bubbles as you go until you make it all the way around.

5. Replant one succulent for each planter, and you are officially done. This project takes 10 minutes or less!
 Optional Step
To help seal and protect your planter, use a paint brush to apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to each marble covered planter. Apply as many coats as you like, but allow each coat to completely dry before applying the next one.
