We are rolling right on into 2019 and can you believe that January is almost over and Valentines Day is nipping on our heels? Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? Well, if you do then we have rounded up our top pink and red blazers for you to shop to make your Valentine’s season looks pop.
Why blazers? This year the blazer and suiting have returned big time after over 2 decades of being on the back burner. Now don’t get me wrong the blazer is a classic piece, especially as part of the power suit that never goes out of style and we should all have a black or navy one in our wardrobes. However, now that blazer is a trending look made up of several silhouettes, patterns and colors.
Blazer Trends
- Oversized
- Double-breasted especially adorned with gold vintage-inspired button
- Plaids, checks as well as pretty pastels to a luxurious fresh palette of refreshing blues, pretty pinks, and eclectic patterns
- Padded shoulders (not as much as in the nineties….yet)
- Shawl and notched collars
- Most are one button double-breasted but you might see some 2 buttons. I haven’t seen any 3 buttons
- A little longer and not as fitted as in recent years.
- Corset-inspired shaping, extra-strong shoulders, and asymmetrical tailoring are all blazer styles
Outfit Details
How to Wear This Seasons Blazer
- Wear with a matching pair of wide-legged pants or skinny trousers for a fresh take on the modern suit.
- I love wearing over a pair of skiing jeans. For spring try over cropped jeans too.
- Believe it or not, wear over a floral dress or skirt. Could be above the knee but I prefer a midi or maxi length for spring.
- Try belting the longer length blazer with a super long skinny belt to waist-hugging corsets.
- I predict seeing them over a longer Bermuda style short…….we will see….
Yes, the blazer is definitely having its moment again and you will see so many more colors, textures and styles popping up for spring. Since we are right on the cusp of Valentines season we have several styles in red and pink for you to mull over.
