Hello, my fabulous ladies! I am gearing up for an incredible adventure, Africa trip No. 3 this time to Zambia, and I’m spilling all the tea on what’s making it into my suitcase. We’re talking safari style that’s not just chic, but super smart for the wild!
I’m super excited to travel again with my gal pal Shauna @chicover50 were we are being hosted by Bushcamp Company in Zambia Africa, highly rated luxury safari but still casual.
When it comes to wardrobe with this Africa trip, think earthy tones, we’re talking khaki, browns, greens, and greys. These aren’t just fashionable, they’re practical for blending in with nature’s beauty and avoiding those pesky flies, no blues or blacks, ladies!
For those chilly morning game drives and crisp evenings, a lightweight jacket is a must, and especially in the cooler months, June, July, and August. Comfort is key!

Let’s talk about what’s actually making it into my Africa suitcase for this fabulous Zambian adventure. Here’s a peek at my meticulously chosen pieces, proving you can be both chic and prepared for the wild!
As you can see from my layout, I’m fully embracing those essential dull, neutral colors that are simply perfect for blending into the breathtaking African landscape. I’ve curated a wonderful selection of lightweight T-shirts in earthy greens, versatile beiges, and classic browns, a couple even sport charming, subtle safari-themed graphics for that extra touch of personality! For bottoms, you’ll find several pairs of lightweight pants in my go-to khaki and olive shades.
Layering is key for an African safari, so I’ve included a stylish lightweight jacket in a warm brown, ideal for crisp mornings and evenings. You’ll also spot a cozy, neutral-toned fleece or warm jacket, which will be my absolute savior for those really chilly early game drives.
And what’s a fashionista without accessories? My chic hat and sunglasses are essential for sun protection. I’ve packed two great hats, a classic safari bucket hat and a 100% recycled, UPF-rated version, both crucial for sun protection and adding that touch of chic . Of course, sunscreen is a non-negotiable for that youthful glow. I’m also tossing in a swimsuit for a refreshing dip, and solar pack charger. Oh, a good pair of binoculars is essential; we wouldn’t want to miss a single wild animal!
For footwear, my sturdy Keen comfortable closed walking/hiking shoes are front and center, ready for any adventure. And for a final touch of flair, I’ve popped in a fun leopard print scarf and a head scarf because even in the bush, a little pattern goes a long way, and it’s surprisingly versatile for warmth or sun cover!

I’ll be traveling in comfort and style on the airplane with my Green Two-Piece Outfit. Comfort is a must while traveling for two days. That is why I love knits and neoprene fabrics.
For a nicer look at dinner time I can wear this cute jacket (It also comes in 4 other colors) over same day time pants and the safari squad shirt.
It zips up the front and is loose and flowy. Also, I will wear this jacket daytime or evening. These jacket is cute, affordable and can be worn all through the fall styled in so many ways. I am wearing a size small in all of my jackets.

I found these adorable Safari graphic t-shirts for $15. They have great stretch so I chose to order a size small for a more fitted look. They come in other colors as well. Layering in essential so I threw in my pen knit hoodie.
My genuine leather sling bag is the perfect size for essentials while traveling. Passport, phone, cash, lip balm, tissue, sunglasses, hand sanitizer and whatever you reach for regularly. This safari hat was under $10. It easily folds up for packing.

I’m rocking a truly unique look with my casual ruffles jacket, a steampunk-inspired blazer featuring a high-low hem and button-up details, which I’m wearing in a size small, this romance open-front cotton cardigan also comes in two additional colors. I’ve paired it with cute giraffe shirt and weekender high rise camo tapered pants, which, at under $20, are a stylish and affordable complement to the jacket’s distinctive charm.

I’m absolutely loving my print fresh bagdheera satin pajama set in tobacco print. To elevate this silk set for a dinner look, I’ve added some beautiful jewelry I purchased during my previous trips to Africa. This versatile ensemble can be further styled with sandals or heels and a gorgeous scarf of any size.
