Blackeyed Pea Dip New Year's Eve Recipes

As the clock ticks down on new year, I find myself overwhelmed with gratitude for each and every one of you. Thank you for sticking with me throughout this entire journey, your support has truly been the highlight of my year. As we embark on this fresh start, I hope and pray that you’ll continue to walk alongside me as we venture into everything the new year has to store. To kick things off with love and luck, I’ve gathered a collection of my favorite New Year’s Eve and Day recipes from my “must-have” Bisquick sausage balls and gooey artichoke dip to the essential ham hock and black-eyed peas that ensure a prosperous year ahead.

This year’s celebration is extra special because it’s a blend of my own kitchen staples and beautiful traditions shared by my assistant from the Philippines. Alongside our classic corned beef cream cheese dip and festive Brie, we’re incorporating a “Prosperity Bowl” filled with rice and thirteen round fruits to welcome in wealth and health. Whether you’re dipping into a bowl of black-eyed pea salsa or serving up a hearty side of cornbread and rice, these easy and perfect recipes are designed to bring joy to your table. Filipino New Year’s Tradition

You know I love to travel and explore cultures so one of the most beautiful additions to my New Year’s celebration this year comes from my virtual assistant in the Philippines, who shared the vibrant tradition of the Prosperity Bowl and the 13 round fruits. In Filipino culture, the round shape of fruits like apples, oranges, and grapes symbolizes coins and wealth, and while many display twelve for each month of the year, others choose thirteen as an extra “lucky” number to ensure a surplus of fortune.

This colorful centerpiece is often paired with a prosperity bowl, a handmade charm filled with raw rice grains to represent abundance, topped with items like red envelopes (angpao), coins, and even 12 eggs to symbolize a full and complete life. Placing these symbols of “Media Noche” (the midnight feast) at the center of the table is a powerful way to welcome 2026 with a clean slate and a heart open to all the blessings the new year has to offer.

As you gather your friends and family to ring in the New Year, may your kitchen be the heart of the home and your table a place of celebration. From the savory crunch of the sausage balls to the sweet, comforting aroma of baked brie and fresh pumpkin pie, these classic New Year’s appetizers and desserts are the perfect way to toast to new beginnings. Here’s to a midnight filled with cheer, a year ahead full of success, and plenty of great food and travels to share along the way.

Happy New Year, Everyone!
