It’s been a great year for SheShe Show so let’s look back on our year and do a little travel review and then give you a glimpse of our travel forecast for 2017.
2016 Travel
- January-Norman and I went to Palm Springs. Check out our Palm Springs and surrounding area city guide.
- April-A trip to Dallas to attend the Rewardstyle Conference.
- May-A trip to Knoxville and Maryville, Tennessee to visit family. Also a trip to Austin where we usually stay at the JW Marriott.
- June-Tanzania, Africa was a trip of my lifetime!! Paris, France was a quick, fantastic 3 day trip that we tagged on the end of our Safari trip.
- July & August- Montrose, White water rafting in Ridgeway, Mountain Village, Telluride and mountain treking near Lake City, Colorado.
- September- A trip to NYFW (New York Fashion Week) with my Dallas blogger friends was a great trip.
- October & November- Back to Austin for 3 home Texas Longhorn football games. Also we went to Dallas where we stayed at the Hilton Anatole Hotel and Resort for the weekend. We attended a SMU football game with our granddaughter and celebrated our daughter and son-in-law’s 30 year anniversary.
- Thanksgiving trip to Maryville, Tenn. to visit family where we also stay at the local Airport Hilton Hotel.
- December- I took a quick trip to Dallas for a Christmas lunch with blogger girlfriends. Also, flew to Montrose, CO. after Christmas to spend some time at our home on the river.
2017 Travel Forecast
- As always we have trips planned to Tennessee to visit family and to our home in Colorado to get a little dose of a different climate.
- I am making a trip to Washington D.C. in 2 weeks to attend the Presidential Inauguration and the Texas Black Tie and Boots Ball. I had the opportunity to go with 4 of my grandsons, (all in their 20’s) son-in-law and step daughter, so I decided that it is an experience that I might not ever get to do again in my life. I know that some of you probably gasped reading this, but Trump aside, this, I hope, will be a rare and memorable experience for me. I just pray for peace during this historical transition. I will be sharing on Insta Stories and Snapchat, so I hope you will follow along.
- A trip to Hawaii in March for a reunion with my American Airlines flight attendant friends from 1978. We were roommates and have reconnected. It is in the planning stages now, but I do hope it works out. We have nearly 40 years of catching up. My how time flies by!!
- I am still trying to plan another trip that is on my bucket list, but Norman doesn’t want to go so I am looking for the right travel companion and the right trip. Maybe I will tag Bangkok or New Zealand onto my Hawaii trip since I will already be halfway there.
- In May one of our grandsons will graduate from Princeton, so I am thinking that will be my New York trip this year.
- I am not sure about NYFW in September. I have been there done that, so not sure if it is that important for me this year. We will see. The most fun part in going is eating, shopping and hanging out with friends in the Big Apple.
Stay tuned….as plans finalize, I will let you know.
OUTFIT DETAILS
So excited to share another look from Lynn Ritchie. If you remember I introduced to you to this brand back in late November. Refer to this blog and check out my cute crushed velvet top and skegging. It is still available and get 20% off with code: SheShe20.
Now we are into Resort wear season and I just received this cute colorful color block top and very comfortable pull on flared knit pant from my friends at Lynn Ritchie. These fabrics are the best for packing and the pants would be perfect for air travel. You know me, I love bright colors so I totally fell in love with this top. The cold shoulder detail gives it even more interest.
I accessorized my look with a bright orange pump, bright blue handbag and long yellow tassel earrings. These Celine sunglasses I just found on sale. They are really big, I know, but they are soooo fun!!! Now if you are not inclined to go bold then you could do a block heeled sandal, a shorter version tassel earring and these sunglasses that a little smaller.
Are you thinking of a trip somewhere warm sometime soon. If you are then check the great printed tops and easy fitting pants that they offer. Size down as the run on the big side. In fact I am normally a size 6 in most missy brands, but I am wearing a size XS with this brand. I like that!!
